For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. ~ 1 Timothy 1:7 (NASB)
Hide God's Word in our hearts through Scripture reading and memorization. Even though hard times come, we must always remember His mercies are new every morning.

Family Relationships
1 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord,for this is the right thing to do.2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

Discipline Me, Lord
LORD, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps. Discipline me, LORD, but only in due measure— not in your anger, or you will reduce me to nothing. ~ Jeremiah 10:23-24 (NIV)

Listen to Your Parents
20 My son, keep your father's commandment,
and forsake not your mother's teaching.
21 Bind them on your heart always;
tie them around your neck.
22 When you walk, they will lead you;
when you lie down, they will watch over you;
and when you awake, they will talk with you.
23 For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life, ~ Proverbs 6:20-23 (ESV)

Lack of Discipline
21 21 For a man's ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he ponders all his paths.
22 22 The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him,
and he is held fast in the cords of his sin.
23 23 He dies for lack of discipline,
and because of his great folly he is led astray.
Proverbs 5:21-23 (ESV)

Discipline
11 and at the end of your life you groan,
when your flesh and body are consumed,
12 and you say, “How I hated discipline,
and my heart despised reproof!
13 I did not listen to the voice of my teachers
or incline my ear to my instructors.
14 I am at the brink of utter ruin
in the assembled congregation.”
