Praise HIM

²⁸ Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brought them out of their distresses.
²⁹ He caused the storm to be still,
So that the waves of the sea were hushed.
³⁰ Then they were glad because they were quiet,
So He guided them to their desired haven.
³¹ Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness,
And for His wonders to the sons of men!
³² Let them extol Him also in the congregation of the people,
And praise Him at the seat of the elders.

Refuge for the Needy

"You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat." ~ Isaiah 25:4a (NIV 1984)

Jesus Calms the Storm

Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"

He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"
